Víctor Villagrán (Chile, 1973) is a Civil Electronical Engineer (1997) and holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Sciences (1998) from the University of Concepcion, Chile.
He has worked in the improvement and design of prototypes of instruments for oceanographic and environmental sciences.
Presently, he is an assistant professor at the Department of Geophysics of the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of the University of Concepcion, where he heads the Lab for Geophysical Development, Measurement and Innovation.
Specialists working at the Millennium Institute of Oceanography (IMO) participated in a two-week training program on the operation of the new version of the Aulox system. Engineer Victor Villagrán, director of Development and Technology Transfer at IMO, was in charge of this program.
For the second time since its creation, IMO won competitive funding from the Explora program of the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT), on this occasion in the Appreciation of Science area. In particular, the project represents a connection between IMO’s Development and Technology Transfer and Outreach teams, which will provide training for high school students from schools in the Biobío Region outside Concepción.
