Biography
Dr. Julio Sepúlveda received a B.Sc. in Marine Biology (2001) and a M.Sc. in Oceanography (2005) from the Universidad de Concepción, Chile, and a Ph.D. in Marine Geosciences from the University of Bremen, Germany (2008). He then worked as a Postdoctoral Associate (2009-2012) and Research Scientist (2013-2014) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences and the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) at the University of Colorado Boulder, USA.
His research interests include organic geochemistry, lipid biomarker research, chemical oceanography, geobiology, life in extreme environments and paleoenvironmental sciences.
