A SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT FOR PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS - GRADUATE STUDENTS ASSOCIATED Millennium Institute of Oceanography SEMESTER II 2015

(August 2015 - February 2016)

The Millennium Institute of Oceanography (IMO), Centre of Excellence dedicated to the basic oceanographic research in the Pacific, summons application to support grants to finance the participation in International Congress periodically held between August 2015 and February 2016. scholarships provide financial support of up to US $ 500 (five hundred US dollars), depending on the location of the event.

These scholarships are aimed at graduate students associated with the Millennium Institute of Oceanography (IMO) and are in the development stage of his thesis, having defended their thesis projects before: A) July 30, 2015 for events taking place between August and September 2015; B) September 30, 2015 event in October and November 2015; and C) November 30th for events between December 2015 and February 2016.

Requirements

• The applicant must be first Author of the paper and this should be an integral part of his graduate thesis.
• Letter of intent indicating name, date, place, title and author of the work to be presented at the event in which you participate, detailing the importance of their attendance.
• Documentation approving the summary sent to the event which postulates.
• Sponsorship letter from at least one Research Associate IMO.
• The paper must be framed in at least one of the research themes of the IMO (justified by the researcher Associate corresponding IMO). Furthermore, the paper should participate as co-author of one or more of the IMO research associates.
• Specify the total required funds and detail other sources of financing available for the event.

Evaluation criteria.

The scholarships are limited and will be evaluated considering the overall contribution of each submission to IMO. This includes criteria such as quality and relevance of scientific event for IMO, quality of presentation (oral, poster, invited workshop) progress of the thesis and IMO number of researchers and co-authors.
