The Chilean newspaper Las Últimas Noticiashas highlighted the descent into the Atacama Trench as one of the five greatest scientific advances of this year. It is noteworthy that our researchers from IMO were the ones who descended into the depths of this Trench thanks to cutting-edge technology. The trench reaches a record depth of 8,081 meters.
